JOIN THE COMMITTEE

We are currently accepting applications to join the Committee of Management (CoM) for Puckapunyal and District Neighbourhood Centre.

The CoM is responsible for governance of the PDNC; a not-for-profit organisation which exists to provide local residents with a space to belong. As a general committee member you would assist in steering the organisation to better serve the community.

Committee members are unpaid volunteers who support the organisation and wish to contribute to its success.

Why join the committee?

Contributing to the management of PDNC is a rewarding experience on both a personal and professional level;

  • Be part of something meaningful. The PDNC plays a critical role in delivering support and services to a community of wonderful people who find themselves otherwise detached by both distance and the nature of Defence life. Your contribution can have a long-lasting and positive impact on your local community.

  • Advance your career. Parents and Defence spouses in particular can find posting to Puckapunyal a strain on career progression. Contributing your time and skills to a not-for-profit committee can become a powerful addition to your CV; even bridging gaps in your work history.

  • Expand your skill set. Being part of a committee is an opportunity to develop all-new transferable skills and exposures for future positions. From leadership, project management and teamwork skills through to experience in the not-for-profit, childcare and community service spaces.

  • Build a network. Your role on the committee is a chance to foster relationships that will make your time in the Puckapunyal area more enjoyable. These relationships can become some of your greatest referrals for future endeavours.
